Singer-songwriter Luke Walstead weaves music that's rich in passion, life and love.
Threads of John Mayer, Justin Timberlake and Stevie Ray Vaughn run through his recent release of "Nobody Else," a five-track EP that reflects indie pop and rock with touches of jazz and R&B influences.
But more important than fitting into any genre is how these songs make you feel. Walstead makes it surprisingly personal.
His music will awaken memories and touch your heart, as if he's actually singing to you. It's the same personal connection that gave him his start.
A favorite childhood memory is of his dad playing and singing to his mom.
Since then, Walstead knew he wanted to connect with people and share snapshots of his life through song.
It was only a matter of time before he got his hands on his first guitar at 14. With serious music theory from years of piano lessons under his belt, naturally the guitar lover would then blossom into a prolific songwriter.
In just under seven years, Walstead has written and recorded 25 original songs and dozens of covers. "My songs are stories of me. My life. It's how I express myself."
"I carry a deep sadness of the heart which must now and then break out in sound..." – Franz Liszt
